Mendil + Meyer envisioned Cannon Beach Hotel as a vibrant desert retreat at the heart of Mesa’s Cannon Beach surf and entertainment destination. Set to become part of Hilton’s Tapestry Collection, the hotel combines the individuality of a boutique property with the familiarity and elevated hospitality of the Hilton brand.

The design narrative draws inspiration from the unexpected meeting of desert and water—pairing Arizona’s warm, elemental landscape with the relaxed energy of coastal surf culture. Natural textures, sun-washed colors and fluid forms create a contemporary atmosphere that feels playful, welcoming and distinctly connected to its setting. Designed as both a retreat and a social hub, the hotel offers guests a memorable experience shaped by movement, connection and the spirit of adventure.
